🍊 Vintage NOS Early 1980s Sunkist Orange Soda Bottle Cap
This is an original NOS (New Old Stock) bottle cap produced during the early 1980s, when Sunkist Orange Soda expanded nationally after launching in 1979.
During this period, Sunkist was franchised to both Coca‑Cola and Pepsi‑Cola bottlers, an unusual and highly effective distribution strategy that helped propel the brand to national prominence.
By 1980, Sunkist Orange Soda became the #1 orange soda in the United States and the 10th best‑selling soft drink overall. Early advertising leaned heavily into a California lifestyle image, using the slogan “Fun, Sun and the Beach” and licensing the Beach Boys’ “Good Vibrations” for television and radio campaigns.
📦 Provenance: These caps were recovered as NOS inventory from an old bottling plant in Jefferson, North Carolina during the 1990s.
✨ Unused and never applied, with clean surface and strong color.
📌 A classic example from Sunkist’s early national expansion era, representing 1980s soda branding and nostalgia.
